vCare will have an impact on various dimensions within and beyond the healthcare system. The main impacts are to be expected in patient-centered, social, technological and economic fields, as shown below.

The established ICT services will foster the innovative Virtual Coaching concept that will contribute to the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (EIPonAHA) vision to increase the number of healthy life years of the European citizens by two until 2020. In particular, improving the coordination of all treatment and care participants and actively involving non-professional stakeholders should significantly delay the further progress of chronic diseases.

Expected impact of the vCare project divided into four categories: Usefulness and effectiveness (usefulness and effectiveness of personalised recommendation and follow-up in terms of the goals of preserving physical, cognitive, mentoral and social well-being for as long as possible), seamless integration (validation of non-obstrusive technology for physical, cognitive, social, mental well-being), user-centered design (evidence of user-centered design and innovation, new intuitive ways of human-computer interaction and user acceptance), economic impact (potential cost-effectiveness due to enhanced self-care, life-style and care management)
